carolyn is finn's nurse practitioner... and at our appt this past friday she asked if i did family portrait sessions! yeah, i love em' i responded. "i'd like to get one done soon, because my husband is leaving for iraq for a year." mouth dropped to the floor. wow. a whole year away... that has to be soooo hard. but andy, her husband, is doing very rewarding work. he is a helicopter pilot & his mission is to bring back 90,000 troops during his stint. so. we came back from flagstaff early since sunday night was the only night we could do it.

carolyn, it was a privilege to meet your family! thank you.

silver bay.

i'm a little nuts. i realize this. i took my 14 day old son on a plane across the country but, & this is a huge BUT... it was to my camp in upstate new york. i've talked about how special this place is on the blog several times... it's my favorite place in the world. so i had several reasons motivating me to make the trip:

:i had an amazing couple hoping i'd be there to document their day, they booked me pre-pregnancy. (and the wedding was fabulous! anna & rob were so awesome.)

:i wanted finn to be able to experience sba: breath that fresh air, sleep with windows open, hang out outside (instead of being stuck inside because it's 113 in phoenix!)

:i wanted this time as a family to chill out.

:& it was my birthday...

so bryan & i packed our bags for our 5 day adventure with our very new born child. we were in an airport or on a plane for 11 hours. (nice lil layover) my sister met us at the airport & we drove the 2 hours north to silver bay.

we had thursday & friday to chill out before the big wedding day. so that's just what we did.

my sister & finn snuggling.

finn loved being outside & feeling the breeze.

cool critter.

steph was kind enough to take some family photos for us.

finn & i will be making this long trip back for two more weddings this year. erin & tim & then chris & jessica :) & we can't wait!!!!

lil quote for u today.

I held out my hands & asked where I could help & somebody grabbed
me & pointed me towards the future & said, You've got your work cut out
for you & I said, isn't there anything easier? & he laughed & said you could
dig around in the past, but it's just busywork & that made perfect sense so
I shrugged & started right where I was, along with everyone else.

albums...

oh how i love thee. i think these are the best way to preserve/ show off your investment :)

i have grown to love this whole process. designing, receiving it in the mail & then drooling all over it & then sending it to the client to hear their excitement & happiness once they get it!

album 1: doug & molly. 9.5 x 13.
here's a picture of my very first album :)

the majority of albums i order are these flush mount albums. it allows for more creative design (or so i think.) the pages are nice & thick & the print quality is awesome.

album 2: parent albums. 7 x 10.
...they then decided to order smaller versions for their parents. i handed them off without any photos so they were very creative & kind to do it for me!

too cute! thanks doug & molly.

album 3: mike & tami. 12 x 8

album 4: monika & josiah. 8 x 12 ...the famous couple in the tree :)

i love this opening picture...

album 5: emily & craig. 8 x 8 ...this is an asuka book.

the pages are so smooth & i love the quality of the paper.

...the perfect coffee table book for the perfect coffee table :)

album 6: lisa & joe. 8 x 8.

album 7: roy & sueanne's album. 11 x 11.

nice lil detail...

i told you i'd been busy. i just ordered 2 more today & i'll be ordering another one tomorrow!

& just because i hadn't posted anything in awhile (besides the latest wedding) you thought i was slacking :) sheesh.

we're off to boulder colorado to visit our good friends: ted & sarah & ashley!!!!! i'll be back in the office on monday. hope you have a wonderful weekend!

rob & anna

wow. this wedding was amazing for so many reasons:

the couple was so fun & adorable.
it took place at the amazing silver bay association -which is beautiful.
their friends & family were a blast.
i'd just had a baby 17 days earlier... so i was still on that high! :0

i could go on & on & on... but i think i'll let the pictures do the talking!

i want to acknowledge my friend brent, from vermont, for driving down & helping me with the wedding. you're awesome, thank you.

anna's dress was stunning.

she was only a tiny bit excited.

from their first glance before the wedding. too cute!

it was a rainy, grey day... so i thought this lil detail was purty cool.

i love this one.

see, rain. anna & rob weren't afraid to run around in it a lil, though!

this was kinda cool, a rain drop that had smeared instead of wiping off like i'd intended caused the cool effect! errr. i mean i did it on purpose :)

the fabulous wedding party, cuddlin.

who wouldn't want to smooch here?

ya know, just sitting at the dock of the bay, wasting time.

flowy veil goodness.

dang! white umbrella with an overcast sky, if only it were red. but still a cool pic!

my favorite, favorite, favorite. how hot is this?

and how cute is this?

"um, we're married."

strutting it as the wohlgemuth's!

some details.

the reception was a blast. anna & her mom shaking it.

and this is from the first dance. i wanted to save it for last because it's such a beautiful moment, almost dreamy.

congratulations anna & rob.
i'm so happy for you all!!

you guys were such a blast to work with & thanks for being so understanding & incredible.
