will & hannah.
will is one of the greatest guys i know. he's been one of my closest if not closest friend since freshmen year of high school. we met at the first trinity mixer, 14 years ago almost to the day. the first trinity mixer of this year happened to be the night before his wedding. he's been there with me through a lot & to say i value his friendship doesn't even begin to cut it.
will met this beautiful woman, hannah, several years ago. we could all tell from the beginning that she was going to be a big part of his life in a very special way.
on sept 13th they said their i do's & threw one helluva party to celebrate their love!
here are a few of my favorites.
hannah & her girlfriends got pampered at z's salon.
& then hannah got ready at this cute little cottage in st.matthews. i noticed this amazing staircase when i first walked in & knew i needed to take full advantage of it. so we set the dress up here & it was beautiful. my favorite dress shot ever.
at the top of the staircase was a window with some amazing light. the beautiful bride all ready.
meanwhile will & the boys hung out at the fisher's house, playing pool, snacking on barbecue, and watching sports.
& here is the very handsome will!
they saw each other before they got married... :) i love it when couples do this- look how natural & unrushed we got to be!
they are so good together. so sweet & in love.
we also got to do most of the portraits ahead of time- the beautiful ladies.
& the boys. these boys are some of my favorites. will & dan, his twin brother, have had this gang of guys all of gradeschool. they are still incredibly close. nick, (bottom right corner about to get squished) grabbed me about 15 minutes before the ceremony & dragged me to the basement of the church where they had found this giant slide. quite possibly one of the most fun moments i've ever had at a wedding was watching these guys go barreling down this slide twice, almost poping it.
and then they all rushed upstairs, patting their jackets & hair back into place ;) because a beautiful ceremony was about to take place.
after the official-ness of the day was over- the group loaded into their large suv limo & the party began. a toast to the new mr. & dr. fisher :)
they had the reception at mellwood... the ballroom was very cool & they had a very sweet first dance.
a fun father daughter dance.
and another favorite of all time. will & his mom danced to "ain't no mountain high enough." it was so joyful & playful which completly sums up this amazing family.
& then it got a lil louder :)
hannah's sorority sisters were there in full force doing one of their ceremonial candle passes... i wasn't in a sorority - so i don't really understand it or know what it's called but it was very cool to watch the bond they created in college.
they were all smiles all night long.
hannah you are one lucky woman. he cherishes you the way we all dreamed of as little girls.
will... i love you & am so happy for you.
thank you both for letting me be such a special part on your day.
i wish you all the happiness & laughter in the world.

mo kayaking & camping!
bryan's good friend from high school carson & his girlfriend maria came to visit us a couple weekends ago... their one request was that we got away from the city- they wanted a break from city life! so- we left phoenix for 5 days of the fine arizona landscape!
first up: the grand canyon- we camped at the top & walked around a bit. lame i know- but we had kayaking on our agenda & didn't have time to hike. so we left the canyon of grand & headed to lake powell.
time to paddle :)
we rented two more kayaks so we'd each have our own & headed to our camp site some four miles away. here's maria:
maria & carson did awesome for their first kayaking adventure.
our campsite for the night.
i love this of our boats hanging out!
the next morning we woke pretty early & started to paddle towards the labyrinth. sounded entertaining & was supposed to be beautiful. we made it to the mile marker & then the group split. carson & maria wanted to play in the water & chill out while bryan & i attempted to paddle further into the labyrinth. we didn't make it all the way back because of time restraints but it kept getting skinnier & skinnier, calmer & quiet. very relaxing.
lake powell is gorgeous... but a little like mars with no trees.
so we started to paddle back to the lil swimmers.
once we got outside of the cove the wind had picked up big time- probably 20 miles an hour- which meant our little motors, also known as our arms were screaming. we paddled for maybe 3 hours & went about a mile. waves were gushing over us & into the boat. it was kind of exciting if not a little frightening. maria & i started scheming how in the heck we were gonna go the 10 or so miles by 8pm that night(their boats had to be back by then). so we plotted a rescue. we finally pulled over to discover our dry bag with our cell phones, wallets, gps, walkee talkees & other fun trinkets had basically drowned & was full of water. dang! everything has since dried out & is working for the most part- if not tempermental. so that meant we couldn't call our rental service & beg for them to come get us via motor boat. back in the water to attempt kayaking. we started waving down boats with our paddles- but it didn't work since it looked like we were paddling. so we pulled over again with the decision of waiting until sunset because bryan said the winds would die down because of some meterological something or another. i didn't give up on the waving of the paddle & finally a wonderful man named john with about 6 people on his boat pulled over to us. they lifted two boats on their boat & dragged the other two... we were saved! it took us 2 hours by motor boat to get back- who knows how long we would have been out there if we were still paddling.
we loaded everything up & headed into page because we were in desperate need of margaritas & mexican food. a nice lil reward for still being alive :)
the next morning we ventured to antelope canyon :) i can check another thing off of my 101 list!
it was awesome & most definitely worth stopping for. i was pretty frustrated to only have my point & shoot with me... so i guess i have to go back!
& then back down to flagstaff -my favorite place in arizona. we had dinner at one of the pizza joints, walked around downtown shopping in their cute stores & enjoyed several beers!
the next morning after some yummy breakfast we headed to sedona so they could see the infamous red rock & we hiked to the devil's bridge.
tempting fate :) how cool is this natural bridge!
and then on the way home we stopped by montezuma's castle which was astounding. how in the heck were they able to do this without the technology we have today it's incredible!
what a fun way to spend 5 days! thanks carson & maria for prompting us to get out of the city :) & for coming to visit us.

there are 3 more beautiful people in this world.
the BABIES are here!!!! their names are alex, devin & maddie & they are precious & healthy with all 60 little digits in tact :) can you believe that 30 fingers & 30 toes! their very lucky parents mike & tami are doing well & revelling in the fact that they just became an instant family!!!! the babies were born yesterday around 4:30!
i am sooo fortunate to have been with them for this special occasion & when i wasn't allowed in the actual delivery room because there were more than 20 people in there mike took my camera & got some really great shots.
this is going to be a really quick post because i'm at the airport & they are boarding already eek! but i had to get some of these up for mike & tami... your babies are beauuuuuuuutiful.
in the room before babies arrived.
mom & dad taking their last few breaths before they welcomed their babies.
mike grabbed this moments after they were all out! HELLO babies.
meet alex. he weighed 4 lbs 1 ounce & is perfect.
look at that precious lil nose.
precious lil toes.
meet devin. the younger, lil brother. he weighed 3 lbs 9 ounces & i think he's the smart one. he kept his hand on his face almost the whole time i was there. it looked like he was thinking "hmm, where i am?"
sweet little yawn.
& now meet maddie, the younger but big sis! she weighed 4 lbs 13 ounces! watch out boys ;) she's going to be able to smack you around a lil!
mom getting to see them!
